Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the characteristics of the Men Who Have Sex with Men(MSM), HIV infection, knowledge and behavioral characteristics in Chancheng District of Foshan City in recent years, and to provide evidence for formulating effective intervention strategies. METHODS The sentinel surveillance data of MSM population in Chancheng District from 2016 to 2018 were collected and analyzed by descriptive epidemiological method. RESULTS From 2016 to 2018, a total of 1 794 MSM people were surveyed, the overall infection rate was 13.89%; most of the infected people were young and middle-aged, the infection rate of people over 50 years old was significantly higher other age groups (P<0.05); the infection rate with low education level was relatively higher, with statistical significance (P<0.05); the total awareness rate of AIDS knowledge was 98.55%, and the knowledge awareness rate of positive group was higher than negative group. The rate of condom use in anal intercourse with homosexuals was 75.56% in the past 6 months, 20.37% in heterosexual intercourse in the past 6 months, and 73.36% in AIDS testing and knowing the results in the past year. CONCLUSION Through the intervention work in recent years, the overall HIV infection rate of MSM population in Chancheng District was stable, lower than the national level; condom use rate of MSM population in Chancheng District was low, high-risk sexual behavior had not changed as a whole, there was a separation of knowledge and practice, which required targeted design of activities and allocation of resources for intervention and mobilization testing mode.
