Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the health literacy level of residents in Jiangxi Province and its influencing factors, and to provide scientific basis for the government and health administrative departments to formulate targeted measures. METHODS A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1500 residents in 45 streets (townships) by means of multi-stage sampling according to geographical orientation, GDP and total population. RESULTS A total of 1482 valid questionnaires were collected, the effective rate was 98.8%. The overall rate of attaining the standard of health literacy was 58.4%. The health concept and basic knowledge were 47.1%. The healthy lifestyle and behavior were 73.1%. The basic health skills were 74.9%. The correlation coefficients among the three components of health literacy were 0.755, 0.603 and 0.625, respectively. The results of multivariate logistic regression showed that the influencing factors of health concept and basic knowledge were gender, age, education level and personal income level. The influencing factors of healthy lifestyle and behavior were age, education level and family. Whether there are patients with chronic diseases, whether there are health knowledge propaganda boards and occupational types in the community, and the influencing factors of basic health skills are age and educational level. CONCLUSION In the future, the work of health education needs to change the traditional thinking, improve the level of part of health literacy to drive the overall improvement, pay more attention to the behavior intervention of key groups, strengthen the preventive role of families, learn from the effective experience and model of commercial medical insurance, innovate the publicity methods and implement them.
