Abstract:Objective: To analyze the prevalence and risk factors of diabetes and hypertension among people over 40 years old in Bojingwan community of Sanmenxia City. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1428 people over 40 years old in Bojingwan community of Sanmenxia City by the method of multi-stage stratified random sampling from January 2016 to August 2017, univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors of diabetes and hypertension in people over 40 years old in Bojingwan community of Sanmenxia city. Results: 1396 valid questionnaires were recovered, the prevalence of diabetes in 1396 subjects was 12.61%(176/1396), the prevalence of hypertension was 34.03%(475/1396). diabetes of subjects was related to age, gender, marital status, smoking index, alcohol consumption index, diabetes history of immediate family members and BMI(P<0.05), hypertension was related to age, gender, marital status, alcohol consumption index, history of hypertension in immediate family and BMI(P<0.05). The risk factors for diabetes and hypertension among subjects were divorced or widowed, smoking index ≥100, alcohol consumption index≥200, irregular black and white alternations and BMI> 24kg /m2, the diabetes history of immediate family members was a risk factor for diabetes in the subjects and the hypertension history of immediate family members was a risk factor for hypertension(all P<0.05). Conclusion: People over 40 in the Bojingwan community of Sanmenxia City are at high risk of diabetes and hypertension, divorced or widowed, smoking index≥100, alcohol consumption index≥200, irregular black and white alternations, BMI>24 kg/m2 are risk factors for diabetes and hypertension, the diabetes history of immediate family members is a risk factor for diabetes in the subjects and the hypertension history of immediate family members is a risk factor for hypertension.
