Abstract:OBJECTIVE To test the reliability and validity of SHMS V1.0 in measuring the sub-health status of urban residents in Lanzhou. METHODS Stratified cluster sampling method was employed. A total of 1139 urban residents from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, were recruited. The reliability was assessed by internal consistency coefficient and split-half reliability, the validity was assessed by Spearman's correlation coefficients and factor analysis. RESULTS The Cronbach's ɑ for SHMS V1.0, physiological sub-health subscale (PS), mental sub-health subscale (MS), and social sub-health subscale (SS) was 0.914, 0.804, 0.867 and 0.849, respectively. For SHMS V1.0, the Spearman-Brown coefficient was 0.944 and the Guttman coefficients was 0.944. The correlation coefficients of item-to-dimension were 0.569~0.872 (P<0.01) and dimension-to-subscale were 0.529~0.893 (P<0.01). The KMO of SHMS V1.0 was 0.915, and the Bartlett's spherical test χ2=14879.667, υ=595(P<0.001), which indicated that it was suitable for factor analysis. Eight common factors were extracted in exploratory factor analysis, of which the accumulated contribution of variances was 59.650%. CMIN/DF=2.485, RMSEA=0,037, NFI=0.915, RFI=0.902, IFI=0.935 and CFI=0.947. CONCLUSION SHMS V1.0 has a good reliability and validity to evaluate the sub-health status of urban residents in Lanzhou city.
