Abstract:Abstract OBJECTIVE To understand the vision status of children aged 0~6 years in Lanzhou, and to provide a basis for children's vision prevention and treatment. METHODS A total of 10,857 children who came to our hospital for a health checkup from March 2018 to September 2019 were screened for rapid diopters by an American Waylen vision screener. The results were judged in combination with the diagnostic criteria of eye refractive of all ages. RESULTS 5173 cases (47.65%) of preschoolers had normal vision, 4522 cases (41.65%) of preschoolers had suspicious vision, and 1162 cases (10.70%) of preschoolers had abnormal vision. The detection rate of abnormal vision screening was higher in girls than that of boys (P=0.003). There were statistically significant differences in vision screening results among children of different genders and ages (male: P=0. 000, female: P=0. 004). The incidence of visual abnormalities increases with age in both boys and girls. There was no statistically significant difference in the distribution of refractive abnormality types between different genders (P=0.956), and there was a statistically significant difference in the distribution of refractive types between different age groups (P=0.00). CONCLUSION The incidence of vision abnormalities in children is high. Regular vision screening, early detection, timely correction of interventions and correction of poor eye habits in children's daily life can effectively reduce the incidence of vision abnormalities in children, which is beneficial to children's healthy growth.
