Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the death characteristics of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases among residents of a certain community in Shanghai from 2012 to 2018, and to provide scientific basis for the formulation of later intervention mea⁃ sures. METHODS By statistical indicators such as crude mortality rate, standardized mortality rate, years of potential life loss (PY⁃ LL), average years of life loss (AYLL), potential life loss rate (PYLLR) and others, the death monitoring data of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in community residents from 2012 to 2018 was sorted and analyzed. RESULTS From 2012 to 2018, the crude mortality rate of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in a certain community in Shanghai was 269.52/105, and the stan⁃ dardized mortality rate was 108.37/105, accounting for 35.34% of all causes of death. The mortality rate of women was higher than that of men, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.424, P=0.020). The potential life loss(PYLL) of residents due to death from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases was 2087.50 years/person, the average life loss(AYLL) is 10.39 years/person, and the potential life loss rate(PYLLR) was 10.75%. The average annual life expectancy from 2012 to 2018 was 84 years. After re⁃ moving the cause of death from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, life expectancy increased by 4.03 years for men and 8.11 years for women. CONCLUSION The death causes of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Huangdu community were mainly female and elderly.
