Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate the status of mental health knowledge and its influencing factors among medical staffs in community health services in Shanghai, and to provide evidence for training and improving community mental health service ability.METHODS A survey was implemented in 3 pilot community health service centers in Shanghai, and a questionnaire of Mental health knowledge questionnaire for non psychiatric clinicians was used to investigate the mental health knowledge. RESULTS (1) The overall average of the survey was 50.0, and the scores of each dimension were below 60.0%. (2) The occupation categories, participation in prevention work and training were the main factors that affect mental health knowledge scores. (3) The scores of mental health knowledge of family doctors were 57.4, 12.3 scores higher than public health staff, and the scores of each dimension of family doctors were higher, followed by Chinese medicine / physical therapy / rehabilitation. (4) The scores of mental health knowledge were 14.6 higher than those without participation in preventive work, and their knowledge scores were higher in each dimension. (5) In some dimensions, the scores for training were higher.CONCLUSION The overall level of mental health knowledge of community medical staff is low, the awareness of depression, anxiety and other mental diseases should be improved; combining training with training is an effective way to improve the knowledge level of mental health among community medical staffs.
