Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the changes of serum inflammatory factors and hemodynamics and the clinical significance in patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI). METHODS A total of 62 patients with ACI were selected as ACI group, and divided into small-size ACI group (small-size group, n=21), moderate-size ACI group (moderate-size group, n=24) and large-size ACI group (large-size group, n=17) according to the neurological functional deficit degree (NFD). Another 60 healthy population undergoing physical examination served as control group. The levels of serum inflammatory factors and hemodynamic indexes were compared among ACI group and control group and different-size ACI groups. RESULTS Compared with control group, ACI group was markedly higher in the levels of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and C-reactive protein (CRP), evidently lower in blood velocity and blood volume, but notably higher in peripheral resistance, and there were significant differences (P<0.01). Large-size group was notably higher in the levels of inflammatory factors, notably lower in the velocity and volume of blood flow, and prominently higher in peripheral resistance than moderate- and small-size groups (P<0.01). And there were also significant differences between moderate- and small-size groups in the levels of inflammatory factors and hemodynamic indexes (P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSION Close monitoring of levels of inflammatory factors and hemodynamic indexes is of great importance in evaluating the disease severity and prognosis of patients with ACI.
