Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore the miRNA-26b expression level in cervical cancer tissue and its relationship with prognosis．METHODS 114 cases of cervical cancer from January 2012 to December 2012 were selected as the research subjects (cervical cancer group). Meanwhile, 87 normal cervical tissues were selected as controls (control group). The miRNA-26b expression level in patients with cervical tissue was detected by fluorescence quantitative PCR (RT-PCR), and the relationships between miRNA-26b expression and cervical cancer tissue pathological features and prognosis of patients were analyzed. Results The miRNA-26b expression in the cervical cancer group was significantly lower than that in the normal group, with statistically significant differences(t=31.27, P﹤0.05). miRNA-26b expression was closely related with clinical stage, tumor differentiation and lymph node metastasis of patients with cervical cancer(P﹤0.05), and not significantly related with age and tissue types of the patients(P﹥0.05) . ROC results showed that area under the ROC curve was 0.820, with the sensitivity of 87.45%, the specificity 84.97%, and the corresponding diagnostic threshold value 0.75. The 5-year overall survival rate of patients with miRNA-26b low-expression was 55.13%, significantly lower than that of 77.67% with miRNA-26b high-expression (P﹤0.05). CONCLUSION The miRNA-26b is significant low expression in cervical cancer tissues, which is expected to be an effective marker for early diagnosis and prognosis of cervical cancer.
