Abstract:OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors，ACEI) -assisted calcium channel blocker in patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease. METHODS 108 patients with essential hypertension and coronary heart disease admitted to Yangjiang Hospital of Yangpu District, Shanghai，whom were divided into study group (n=54) and control group (n=54). Patients in the control group were treated with calcium channel blockers only. Patients in the study group were given ACEI-assisted calcium channel blockers. The clinical efficacy and safety of the two groups were observed and compared. RESULTS The total effective rate of clinical treatment in the study group (92.6%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (81.5%). The improvement of the indicators in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The incidence of myocardial ischemic events was significant in the study group (11.1%). Compared with the control group (29.6%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION ACEI-assisted calcium channel blockers are safe and effective in the treatment of patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease, at the same time of controlling blood pressure while protecting kidney function and reducing the incidence of myocardial ischemic events.
