Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore the difference of utilization of health service projects between contracted residents and non-contracted residents, and to understand the satisfaction of residents with the contract service of family doctors, so as to provide references for improving the contract service model of rural doctors in Gansu Province. METHODS 1 900 residents aged 18 years or above were selected as subjects by multi-stage sampling. It collected data and created the database to conduct a questionnaire survey. The description and Chi-square test were applied after establishing the data base. RESULTS The proportion of contracted residents choosing family doctors for the first time and receiving chronic disease service and health check-up service was significantly higher than that of non-contracted residents. The difference was significant between these two groups. There was statistical significance(P<0.05). The higher satisfaction of the signed residents was mainly the family doctor's service attitude, contract service mode, technical level and reimbursement ratio, which were 95.77%, 92.51%, 87.88% and 85.18%, respectively. Satisfaction with the allocation of medical equipment in village clinics was lower, at 51.95%, 65.31%, and 75.24%, respectively. CONCLUSION The contract with family doctors could significantly improve the community health service capacity and there were highly the residents’ satisfaction. But the medical equipment configuration, drug type and drug price system of the village clinic needed to be further improved.
