Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the attitudes and influencing factors of premarital sexual behaviors among contemporary college students in Northeast China. METHODS A total of 1 773 undergraduate students from 2 universities in Northeast China were selected as subjects. METHODS The chi-square test and logistic regression model were used to analyze the influences of relevant factors on college students’ premarital sexual behavior. RESULTS 57.71% of college students expressed support for premarital sex, which was significantly higher than that of college students with “opposing” attitude. Chi-square test results showed that the difference in social attitude had a significant impact on college students’ premarital sexual behavior (χ2=34.961, P<0.01); multivariate logistic regression analysis showed: trusting others(X10), social attitude (X11) and living Regional (X16) was closely related to college students’ premarital sexual attitudes. The resulting regression equation: P⁄1-P=EXP(0.809+0.291X10-0.4046X11-0.2188X16). CONCLUSION At present, college students in Northeast China had expressed support for the majority of premarital sex behaviors, which had not improved compared with the previous ones. The education department needed further adjustment of policies and scientific guidance.
