Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the cognitive and demands of elderly people in Lishui on family physician services, to provide references for optimizing family physician services and establishing a great medical order in Lishui. METHODS It conducted a survey in a multi-stage cluster sampling of 900 elderly people from 5 subdistricts of Liandu District with a self-designed questionnaire consisting of the basic demographic characteristics, the prevalence of chronic diseases, the cognitive of family physician services, and the demands of family physician services. Of the 900 questionnaires distribut⁃ ed, 847 returned were responsive，achieving a response rate of 94.1%. RESULTS 438 of the elderly with chronic diseas⁃ es, and 590 were contracted the family physician services. The awareness rate of family physician services for the elder⁃ ly was 64.1%, and the overall demand level was higher. There was a higher demand for physical examination and elec⁃ tronic health records. Occupation, family monthly income, expense bearing capacity, contract signing of family physician service, necessity of contract service, worry about chronic diseases, aware of chronic diseases and long-term use of drugs have statistical significance to the demands of elderly family physician service. CONCLUSION The elderly lacked aware⁃ ness of family physician services, had a higher demand with different characteristics and different demands for family physician services
