Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate and analyze the death situation of residents in Dingxi City in 2018, so as to provide scientific basis for formulating disease control strategies and measures. METHODS Using the death information registration management system to collect the death data of residents in the monitoring points with the crude mortality rate of more than 6‰ in Dingxi City in 2018, analyze the causes of death of residents, and calculate the life expectancy per capita, the life expectancy to eliminate the cause of death, the probability of early death due to chronic diseases and other indicators. RESULTS In 2018, the crude mortality rate of Dingxi city residents was 638.12/100 000, the standardized mortality rate was 652.83/100 000, and the mortality rate of male was higher than that of women; the average life expectancy of residents was 77.37 years old, 75.44 years old for men and 79.50 years old for women; the top five causes of death were cerebrovascular disease, heart disease, respiratory system disease, malignant tumor, injury and poisoning, and cardiovascular disease and evil were removed respectively. After major causes of death such as cancer, COPD, injury, poisoning and diabetes, the average life expectancy of the general population increased by 0.13-8.86 years. CONCLUSION At present, the main diseas⁃ es affecting the health level of residents in Dingxi City were chronic non-infectious diseases. It should strengthen health education, change the lifestyle of residents, comprehensively prevent and control chronic diseases, and improve the health level of residents.
