Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and its influencing factors in hypertension pa⁃ tients. METHODS A multi-stage random sampling method was used to select 1 152 hypertension patients as the subjects, the investi⁃ gation was performed by questionnaire and physical examinatio. The used software was SPSS 17.0. RESULTS 24.05% people knew more about TCM in the 1 152 respondents. Those respondents who knew more about TCM were used TCM more frequently (χ2= 230.857, P＜0.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that after adjusting confounding factors. Those hypertension pa⁃ tients who were convenient to seek TCM advice, familiar with the knowledge of TCM and willing to use TCM were more likely to use TCM. Those hypertension patients whose blood pressure was up to the standard were less likely to use TCM. CONCLUSION The use of TCM could improve the therapeutic effect and improve life quality of hypertension patients with great significance. The populariza⁃ tion of TCM knowledge, the distribution of primary medical institutions and the comprehensive development of TCM technique were important factors to improve the utilization of TCM.
