Abstract:Abstract: OBJECTIVE To gain an in-depth understanding of the prevalence patterns of overweight/obesity and diabetes comorbidity among community-dwelling schizophrenia patients, providing scientific evidence for the precise formulation of community health management intervention strategies.METHODS Schizophrenia patients registered for community health management in a district of Shanghai in 2025were enrolled as study subjects. The x²test was used to explore differences in overweight/obesity or diabetes comorbidity among patients with varying characteristics, while a logistic regression model analyzed the influencing factors of overweight/obesity and diabetes comorbidity.RESULTS A total of 1,848 patients were surveyed, with overweight or obesity detected in 54.44%and diabetes comorbidity in 13.47%.x²test results indicated statistically significant ifferences in overweight/obesity detection rates among community schizophrenia patients across age, occupation, medical insurance type, family doctor contract status, disease duration, and caregiver- patient relationship(P<0.05).When examining diabetes comorbidity rates among patients with different characteristics, significant differences were found for age, occupation, educational attainment, disease duration,caregiver-patient relationship, and BMI(P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis result further revealed that disease duration,guardian-patient relationship, and family doctor contract status were statistically significant factors influencing overweight/obesity in community schizophrenia patients(P<0.05).Guardian-patient relationship and BMI were statistically significant key factors affecting diabetes comorbidity(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The detection rates of overweight/obesity and diabetes comorbidity among community-dwelling schizophrenia patients are elevated.Health education on overweight/obesity and diabetes should be intensified, with clear delineation of caregiver responsibilities to ensure diligent fulillment of guardianship duties.Targeted interventions addressing key influencing factors should beimplemented to reduce the risk of overweight/ obesity and diabetes comorbidity, thereby supporting patient recovery and facilitating their successful reintegration into society.
