Abstract:Abstract:OBJECTIVE To thoroughly examine the current state of Yantai residents'awareness of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)culture,its dissemination channels,and existing issues,while proposing practical optimization strategies to enhance the effectiveness of TCM culture health awareness communication.METHODS From July 18 to 29,2025,a random survey was conducted among 382 respondents by questionnaires which were distributed via Wenjuanxing.The survey covered multidimensional information including gender,age,residence,and educational background.It analyzed public perception characteristics and dissemination effectiveness of TCM.RESULTS Women and the 18-30 age group demonstrated higher engagement with TCM science communication. Urban residents and those with higher education levels expressed stronger demands for scientifically rigorous information.Key challenges in current science communication efforts include obscure professional terminology and difficulty in verifying information authenticity. Books,newspapers,and short videos have become primary dissemination channels for TCM science communication,while reducing the spread of pseudoscientific information emerged as the public’s most urgent demand.Additionally,educational attainment and age significantly influence TCM culture cognition and satisfaction(P<0.01),while gender and residence show no effect(P>0.05). CONCLUSION Tailoring communication content and formats to diverse audience needs,enhancing equitable resource allocation between urban and rural areas,and strengthening information oversight are essential to improve the effectiveness of TCM cultural dissemination and elevate public health literacy.
